The third quarter of 2013 has been tremendous for Betsson, with the Swedish bookmaker announcing an increase of 14% as compared to 2012. The revenues soared to €530 million while operating income also increased to €120 million, with the sports book being the main source of income.

Betsson also runs a very successful online casino that presents players with the opportunity of competing at poker tables, play roulette, blackjack and a nice variety of slot games. The numbers are also encouraging for 2013 and they have surpassed even the most optimistic expectations. Arguably the central reason for why this has happened is that their members found no reason to look elsewhere for online casinos, since Betsson meets their needs to the letter.

Not only the online casino is consolidating its customer base, but it also expands it at an accelerated pace, usually at the expense of competitors who can’t keep up with them. President and CEO of Betsson, Magnus Silfverberg, states that these numbers are in complete accord with the business plan and they expect the online casino to continue growth. In fact, the high-ranking representative hopes that in a not so distant future, the revenue generated by the casino section will meet if not exceed the sports book.

Not surprising, the Swedish casino is software by the developer Net Entertainment which is also based in this country and is widely regarded as one of the best in the industry. As a result, most of the progressive jackpot games that are available in the casinos using their software are released first at Betsson, keeping them ahead of the curve and players up to date with the latest titles.
